Life after MCAT!

I got my MCAT scores a couple of days ago. I have good enough score to get in a medical school. When I found out my scores, I was so excited that I started screaming in my class because I have been preparing for it for the last 2.5 yrs. Luckily, the class wasn’t in session. But the excitement was changed into boredom only in a day. Next day, I called everyone from family to personal friends to my Facebook friends about the success I scored. After receiving all the good wishes, the excitement was all gone. Since then, I am bored out of my mind. Before I got my score, I had plans for every moment in a day. My mind was coagulated with MCAT. I had a schedule that revolved around MCAT. On a daily basis, I was sacrificing many things so that I can put more time in MCAT. I was giving it more importance than my family and friends. I felt horrible at the time.

But now, this MCAT is gone. It is not on my mind anymore. And ironically, I miss it. I am bored out of mind since I have nothing else to do. I am taking master's classes and also teaching two biology lab courses. But I still have a lot of extra time that I have nothing planned for. As a result, I find myself bored and doing worthless things like sleeping, being on Facebook for long times, watching something that I don't need. Things I missed while studying for MCAT don't excite me anymore. Time has passed for some of them and there are others that I only missed because they seemed tempting compared to studying MCAT. Someone has put this in very beautiful way - "Man is never satisfied with his situation".

I am trying to get back with my studies and teaching. May be once I make my schedule, I will be better off. I am also trying to do everything I missed while preparing for MCAT since once I am in Medical School, I will start miss them again. I better get on with the bucket list. :)

Will you pursue something you hate???

Choosing a profession to pursue but don't like studying for it???
Why students choose a profession they love to pursue but don't like to study for it??? I am a Biology major and my dream is to become a physician. In my classes, I see students who cheat, get help in their quizzes from others, bored in doing their home works, and always submit their work after the deadline. These students just want to leave the class ASAP and chill with their "hommies." I am not a nerd. I also do things to have fun but I am also enthusiastic towards my goal and the subjects I study. I do not give a lot of time in studying but I study as much my instructor wants me to.

I get pretty upset because of above mentioned habits of students. They don't understand that life is not a classroom that they can miss out anytime they want. In real life, they have to face there problems and work according to it.

How can they hate their biology classes if they want to be a doctor. They make a 'C' or a 'D' as a grade and feel lucky. It will be always a mystery until someone gets back with me on this. If someone is working hard and don't get the results, I respect that. But it is stupidity to pursue something only because of its social place. Dig deep and find out if you are really cut out for what you are going after. Otherwise it will take you nowhere. Even if you did succeed in the end, you will never enjoy doing it every single day for the rest of your life. Think about it!

My Passport Essential SE

I bought this Portable Hard Drive from Sams Club and this thing is amazing. The back up done by this drive is wonderful. I am running a windows PC.

The backup is automatic. It works quietly in the background  and whenever you add or change a file it's instantly backed up. It also comes with the password protection which keeps the data in the drive private.

I am using it for a few days now and I already am loving it. It is a great thing. Although I have enough space in my laptop, I bought it to be care free for my data and it gives me extraaaaa space to download and download all the random things without worrying for space.

The capacity of this drive is 1TB, which is quite a lot. It is compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. The pack comes with the portable Hard Drive, WD Smartware Software (on a disk), USB cable, and a Quick Install Guide. It also includes a bag to keep the hard disk and the USB cable safe. I paid almost $119 (without taxes).

This thing is pretty cool and I am excited to use it...
